Self Harm needs a balm (Warning: Trigger possible)

Self Harm needs a balm (Warning: Trigger possible)

I knew about self harm. So, I dare say, are those that have and do self harm. I do not self harm.

Can a person self harm by speaking? Saying sorry when you have not done anything wrong for instance. Denigrating yourself (putting yourself down) when you should be building yourself up. I suppose a person can self harm their reputation or part of them that speaks up for their self. We are not perfect us humans. I sometimes think that as we get older we become less perfect and more flawed.

However, I also think the the wisdom toolkit becomes more full, and accessible. Especially in those that learn well in their own way.

I sometimes think that being Neurodivergent we learn very individually in our own heads, maybe more slowly, or more accurately if we learn our lesson by placing the jigsaw pieces together and weld them tight. The lesson and the pieces never fall out of position and we access the techniques throughout life in a perfect, make do way. Like the art form Wabi Sabi, the art of the imperfect. The lesson may be undone in the game of snakes and ladders that is life.

I had a sore knee the other month that has healed. I went to the chemist to buy some Tiger Balm. I bought yellow tiger balm for the body. The Chemist said white tiger balm is for the face.. I remember going to the Tiger Balm Gardens in Hong Kong and seeing the depiction of Hell in small figurines going up a walkway in the compound. I right now, think, looking back on this moment, I am not going to this place. I used the Balm three times and my sore knee got better.

What if there was a balm to prevent self harm. Please see the following graphics which I found at a charity exhibition at Carrow Road. Maybe this is it. Please access it at your pace, it maybe what you are looking for. If you are not in the UK why not talk to Sally, her email can be found below. The link to the S&L Site is here.

I hope this blog helps in ways that information helps. 🙂
