“Believeing in your self isn’t bad -it’s brave

Hey everyone, I hope you’ve had an amazing weekend and are ready for the week ahead.

Today, I want to talk about something simple but powerful: believing in yourself—and why it’s not a bad thing to do.

Growing up, I often heard things like: “You’re not good enough,” “You won’t be any good at that,” or “You’re not intelligent enough.” I heard it at school, and even later in college. Looking back, those words hurt, and they didn’t give me much hope.

In 2018, I had a setback in my mental health and experienced a psychotic breakdown. At the time, it felt like everything was falling apart. But out of that difficult moment came something new—I started blogging. I wanted to share my journey, thinking maybe my words could help someone else.

And do you know what? The first time I got a like, a comment, or when someone shared my blog—it meant the world to me. It showed me that what I was doing had value. Slowly, I began to believe in myself a little more.

Since then, so much has happened. From blogging and podcasting, to sharing national and local news, and being part of incredible projects that helped me grow. Today, I’m proud to say I’m the Director of my own Community Interest Company.

So, being told “no” didn’t stop me—it inspired me. It gave me the fire to prove people wrong, and more importantly, prove to myself that I could do it.

Of course, I didn’t do it alone. I’ve had amazing support—from my partner, my sister, and so many others who’ve stood by me and encouraged me along the way.

Here’s the truth: if I hadn’t believed in myself, even just a little, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

So, if you’re reading this, remember—believing in yourself isn’t bad. In fact, it could be the very thing that changes your life.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a great rest of the week. See you in the next one.

    Nice Blog.

I chose this photograph because Life is a bit Red and Green. Stop and Go. Also it is a game of two halves. The uphill part and the downhill part.

Although the uphill and downhill part can happen in one day it can also be applied to younger and older years. They say that wisdom grows with age, maybe it grows with experience.

The great thing is two people with experience add more value to a conversation than talking to yourself in the mirror.

It is good to see your words exposed and allows me, and others a sounding board to expose mine and their words.

When you write a blog John the hard part is already done a comment is merely an easy agree or adding of information to an idea that you have had.

You should feel good about believing in yourself. Sometimes that attracts other people who believe in your self too.
